Do you want to know what a THC high is like? Do you have a few hours to discuss it?
We are talking about a very complex thing here. Even if we were talking about pure THC, it would still be quite a complex issue.
For one thing, THC affects different people in different ways. If you took a poll of 100 people, you would get differing results.
Not All Endocannabinoid Systems ECS Are Created Equally
Everyone’s ECS is different, therefor THC is going to affect them differently. Some people may have a deficient ECS while others may have varying levels of CB1 and CB2 receptors which is what the THC binds to and possibly what causes the high feeling from using THC products.
The thing is, scientists aren’t entirely sure how or why THC affects people the way it does. And they are even more in the dark when it comes to CBD. All they know is it doesn’t bind to the CB1 or CB2 receptors the way THC does.
Okay… sorry for that science speak.
The bottom line is, there are so many compounds within any givin THC product that there is going to be differing effects from one strain to another, from one plant to another. There are differing effects between c. Sativa, c. Indica, and hybrids.
Suffice it to say that you use THC products and get high! That’s pretty much the point though isn’t it? Unless you use it for medicinal reasons. If I had to guess, I would say that at least 75% of people who use cannabis products do so to get high.
My First Experience Getting High
Most people I’ve spoken with regarding their first time getting high said they didn’t get off. Now whether this is attributed to bunk weed or not I couldn’t say. But in some cases, they told me the second time smoking the same weed they did get high. So that is inexplicable to me.
The first time I smoked pot, I smoked nearly a whole joint that my brother told me was Acapulco Gold. Whatever the strain was… I got completely WASTED!
I still remember smoking that joint in Mom’s old 1963 Rambler station wagon. I was sitting behind the steering wheel smoking away. I would sit and zone out for no telling how long after about the third or fourth hit.
Every time the joint went out, I sparked up a kitchen match and relit it. (By the way, I was barely 13 years old at the time. And my brother conned me into smoking that joint so I would do the dishes for him. He had a way of “talking” me into doing things… caused me all kinds of trouble growing up.)
So, five or six kitchen matches later, I was SO high. I went into the house and laid down in my bed. I felt like the walls were closing in on me. All of a sudden there were dozens of ghostly forms surrounding my bed crowding closer and closer to me. I felt trapped.
It was almost like they were pressing up against an invisible barrier trying to get to me. Looking back I can’t help but think that I was actually seeing into another realm.
Then like a distant voice, I heard my brother calling to me. He hollered at me telling me I had to do the dishes.
Of course, I didn’t feel like it AT ALL! But I got up and went into the kitchen. As I stood there looking into the nasty dishwater infested with different foodstuffs, I didn’t feel well at all! The next thing I know, I barfed right into the kitchen sink!
I went right back to my bed and laid down. My brother starts harping at me telling me I have to clean out the sink and do the dishes… I tell him I just can’t do it. I can’t even get out of bed. How am I supposed to do the dishes?
Funny ending… My brother ended up having to do the dishes, clean up my barf, and everything! That’s the only time I ever got over on him in our lives.
Oh, did I mention that I was supposed to save him half that joint? I almost smoked the whole thing before I remember that fact.
I’ve never gotten that high from smoking pot since. I have been able to get that high and possibly higher by using concentrates.
By the way, if you don’t have any experience with concentrates, please be careful with them. Try a small amount at first until you know what your tolerance level is.
Oh hey, if you are expecting a structured blog post, forget about it. I pretty much sucked at sentence and paragraph structure in school much less structuring a book report or any such thing. You get what you get.
Did you get high your first time? What was it like the first time you actually did get high?
